Question:
What happens to my master content once I am done
with a P2 card?
Answer:
Protect your investment here at Moviola.
The Moviola Media Vault is a server-driven, secure
media archive for storing master and edited content. It
is designed to serve the needs of film and television
producers using P2 card technology.
Moviola will be the first in the industry to provide a
superior solution to shelving tapes and film stock
in physical facilities or salt mines. Moviola will deploy
a secure, raid-protected storage area network for short-term
storage; a nearline storage component for long term storage;
and a dailies duplication service to tape or disc.
No longer will you have to wade through boxes of
video or film stock (often without a log sheet) in order
to find a tape or a reel. With this new approach,
the Moviola Media VaultTM allows immediate and accurate
access to any or all of your master or edited content.
In a typical production scenario (as shown in the workflow
below) youll first move the day's footage to storage
attached to the offline editing system. Then the same
footage is delivered to Moviola where it will be processed
(ingested), cataloged (tagged by our customized asset
management program), vaulted (assigned a location on the
SAN), and then, if requested, duplicated (workprint dailies).
In this way, the Moviola Media Vault serves as the
next generation of film lab. The shaded bottom section
of the workflow describes a general post production workflow
that will lead to delivery in multiple formats. Workflow
