Q: How do I format my P2 Store for Mac?

• Plug the P2 Store into your computer using USB 2.0. Simultaneously press and hold for 5 seconds the “HHD CAP” button, the “CANCEL” button, and the battery test button. The “USB” light will change from green to orange. Restart your computer. The drives will appear as “no name”. You will have one “no name” for each P2 card that was transferred to the P2 Store. That means if you transfer10 P2 cards to the P2 Store, 10 “no name” drives will appear on your desktop.

Q: How long does it take to transfer my P2 media?

• P2 Store: _ of your footage run-time (i.e. 10 minutes of footage will take 5 minutes to transfer.)
• DVD: 10 minutes per 4.7 GB DVD
• Hard Drive: about 15 minutes per GB

1. Format the P2 store to match your edit system platform (Mac or PC)
2. Press the “HHD CAP” button and check the available storage space on your P2 Store
3. Insert P2 card into slot
4. Press and hold the “Start button”
5. The “P2C” and “HDD” lights will flash. The copy status lights will blink and then turn solid when the process is complete.

1. Connect the HVX-200 to your computer using a firewire cable.
2. Turn the camera on and put it in playback mode.
3. The cards will mount to the desktop.

Q: How long does it take to convert my .XML files into .MOV files?

Q: How do I import my footage into Final Cut Pro?

1. Connect your P2 media to the computer
2. Set up your logging bins as desired
3. Select File>Import>Panasonic P2
4. Select your clips and import them into your project
5. Final Cut Pro will translate the .XML files into readable .mov files
6. Once translated by Final Cut Pro these .mov files will be readable in any QuickTime compatible player.
7. Importing the clips from the cards DOES NOT delete the media from your P2 card.
